Mark your calendars: December 27th will be the first virtual nurse-in on Facebook. You probably remember the uproar last year when Facebook started removing its users breastfeeding images because they were "obscene." In response, a group was created called, "Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!" (of which I am a member).
Now, a group called Mothers International Lactation Campaign (MILC) is hosting the nurse-in because Facebook still continues to arbitrarily remove pictures of moms nursing from the site.
In honor of this "virtual day of protest," MILC asks that you change your profile picture on December 27th to a breastfeeding image and change your status to, "Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!"
I'll be participating. Will you?
