Ho...You are a survivor, with your head on straight! How wonderful that you wish to share with other women in your situation, and that you are strong enough to admit that you still have worries and fears (that is true courage). You do sound empowered, and that you have taken back YOUR body from those who hurt you. That you choose now, to share it with your son, is your choice.... and a very good one for the both of you! :)Connienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-83839947159325270512010-11-10T01:53:14.415-05:002010-11-10T01:53:14.415-05:00Thank you all for your encouraging words and helpf...Thank you all for your encouraging words and helpful links! It pains me to see that so many of you also have been raped/abused, but at the same time it feels really good to know that I am not alone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-21727518388787536762010-11-09T05:28:44.165-05:002010-11-09T05:28:44.165-05:00Thank you for sharing this post written by a wonde...Thank you for sharing this post written by a wonderfully, strong woman. A problem with professionals is that no matter what, they can not really be objective about certain things. One wonders what was in the life of this psych lady that she could not get what the mom to be was talking about.I am glad the midwife was a true midwife - a helper.lactmamanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-21098496734733314672010-11-09T02:30:40.530-05:002010-11-09T02:30:40.530-05:00The online support community for mothers with birt...The online support community for mothers with birth trauma, Solace for Mothers, has a forum for people who have suffered a previous trauma. Even though you thankfully didn't experience triggering during your first birth, they may be able to talk about their experiences with subsequent births.

http://mothers.solaceformothers.org/Vanessahttp://pulse.yahoo.com/_XZWSUDK2PAPIQVEIH3QTI4DSFYnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-37395397962500960782010-11-09T00:19:59.244-05:002010-11-09T00:19:59.244-05:00This is so powerful. Giving birth and breastfeeding are, without any kind of doubt, the most positive, healing, re-affirming, empowering things I have EVER done. Nothing has made me feel like my body is mine quite like those experiences have.

Hmmm. I have never thought to share about that but now might be the time...

Thanks for sharing your story, Anonymous. You are not alone.Rebekah Cnoreply@blogger.com
