A lot of people still believe that after 6 months there is no difference between breast milk and formula. Six months of exclusive nursing is an awesome start in life that too few babies get. However, nursing beyond the age of 1 is wonderful and beneficial for both mom and baby. I think it would've been nice if they had mentioned that, but I don't think that omission makes the PSA any less wonderful or effective.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00993207959343741839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-76312924059399008612009-12-05T16:26:45.934-05:002009-12-05T16:26:45.934-05:00This is the one I saw on AFN (Armed Forced Network...This is the one I saw on AFN (Armed Forced Network) - out of Europe, and broadcast to my home in the Middle East! :)Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667481504650498976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-88738478403460268712009-12-05T10:38:53.514-05:002009-12-05T10:38:53.514-05:00Can't we just be happy that this PSA was thoug...Can't we just be happy that this PSA was thought up, produced, and available, and that it includes racial diversity, rather than think about how it doesn't mention "extended" nursing?! This is awesome, Elita do you know if this is being aired on TV regularly in TX? Or how is it being distributed? I like the slogan "every ounce counts."Nichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11492629435007810776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-44729692092708262262009-12-05T10:28:38.014-05:002009-12-05T10:28:38.014-05:00I went to their website and they also have the PSA...I went to their website and they also have the PSA in Spanish. That's why I was surprised when I saw an enormous billboard that said in huge letters, "Do what's BEST for your baby: Breastfeed!" Good stuff, man.Erinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01378921984835830938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-12272349612278958352009-12-05T01:22:12.985-05:002009-12-05T01:22:12.985-05:00Yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes I wonder if the medical establishment feels that so-called extended nursing is so strange to most people that if they pushed for longer duration of nursing it would be too much of a turn-off for the average woman in America. Or is it that they don't really believe nursing is beneficial past a year? I honestly can't tell. My pediatrician was really happy that I nursed my son for a year but at his 1-year appointment told me I could stop at any time.Elitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01294923997458681675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-82449183106124225642009-12-05T01:12:37.661-05:002009-12-05T01:12:37.661-05:00Yay for my home state :-)
