I used to work 10 hour days, including working straight through lunch. Now I work exactley 8-5 and ALWAYS take a full hour lunch break to drive to daycare to feed her .... so I no longer have any overtime, a noticable difference in my paycheck ... plus pay for the gas for the extra 20 minutes in my car each day. But its worth it!K in Phillynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-79588827317504597552010-11-06T07:57:43.543-04:002010-11-06T07:57:43.543-04:00OMG. Here we go again. Sure, breastfeeding requires dedication and time. But so does having a social, intellectual, and work life. Our bodies need to stop being the cause of how we argue. Breastfeeding is natural and best. Period. Perhaps we should look at our experiences otherwise with our bodies and figure out why some women are apt to believe the message that breast is not best. Is there a link? I think so. Does anyone know anyone who is investigating this?Tarainsummitnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-33039438603538501142010-11-05T10:19:03.831-04:002010-11-05T10:19:03.831-04:00Great post and great catch, Elita. What is more puzzling is why the antiquated notion still prevails that breastfeeding is another shackle of motherhood and that formula feeding/ bottle feeding is that much more "freeing." Becoming a mother, or a parent, for that matter is tough and things are going to change in one's life. I don't know why some insist on making it seem like having a baby does nothing except add a cute new accessory to one's wardrobe. To me, this book sounds like another in a long line of "make mom feel good about her choices" books, specifically written to lessen mommy guilt, but who is benefitting from these writings?Karianna Freyhttp://twitter.com/kariannafreynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-9066195241697600432010-11-05T05:07:37.531-04:002010-11-05T05:07:37.531-04:00Thank you so much for posting this.
