Women really depend on medical staff to help them with breastfeeding. Many moms think it will be so easy and when it's not, they give up quickly. I was extremely dedicated to nursing and it's the only reason we made it through those first few weeks.
My son breastfed immediately after birth but he had such a lazy latch in the beginning. Getting him to open wide was impossible, so I just gritted my teeth and bore the pain!Elitahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01294923997458681675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3536683374417960813.post-59166470497004380422008-08-01T11:30:00.000-04:002008-08-01T11:30:00.000-04:00The lactation consultant only showed up a day or s...The lactation consultant only showed up a day or so after my son was born! Of course, the nurses may have told her not to bother, because my son was born a nursing pro. Latched on by himself. My daughter was tougher to convince - very sleepy and didn't like the heavy flow of milk.
We moved to Pakistan shortly after my baby was born and it was hard to avoid attention - our Philapina nanny BRAGGED LOUDLY to everyone about my breastfeeding exclusively (She also went crazy when the first solid food he'd accept was rice, and only rice - she swore he had to be part Asian and was always claiming his eyes were part Asian!) Everyone knew I was the breastfeeding mom - which is funny, but kinda sad too. It shouldn't be so uncommon.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03667481504650498976noreply@blogger.com
